The Doc Behind The Talk

After completing my General Pediatrics Residency at Baystate Children’s hospital in MA, and my PEM Fellowship at UPMC’s Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, I moved to Orlando where I was fortunate to help children in the ED and also do a lot of teaching for medical students, physician assistant students and Pediatric, Emergency Medicine and Family Medicine residents. That is when I realized I can teach trainees outside of the ED as well. It was then that I started PEM Rules. I have since moved to Las Vegas where I work as a PEM Attending and serve as the PEM Fellowship Site Director as well as the Child Abuse Medical Director.

Teaching is one of my favorite things to do, and over the years I have had the honor of receiving several teaching awards.

While Pediatric Emergency Medicine is a big passion and priority of mine, family comes first, and music comes in at a close third place. In addition to playing guitar, bass, piano, ukulele and drums (which I try to put to good use in the podcast’s intros and outros), I love to jam with my wife and kids.

Check out some PEM Rules related websites.

Thanks for listening.
